Yesterday, we went to Bridgewater to visit with a friend of Liz's from school. The two of them had bee quite close, but hadn't seen each other since we were married - almost 19 years ago. It was a very good visit and they were able to catch up on each others' lives. When we returned to Lunenburg, we had dinner and went Duckpin Bowling with Liz's parents. That is the only kind of bowling that Liz remembers from her childhood, and the only kind of bowling in the area here. It has 10 smaller pins, a small (3-5 lb) ball, and you get 3 throws per frame. Otherwise, it is scored like normal bowling. It was a lot of fun and worth quite a few laughs.
Today, Miriam and Breanne went to the Farmers' Market. Miriam sells many things that she grows and crafts that she makes there, and Breanne went along to help her out. At the same time Carl and I went out Kayaking again, this time from the Lunenburg Front Harbor past the lighthouse and along the shoreline a bit in the ocean. It was a very beautiful day - sunny and calm - perfect for kayaking. While we were out in the kayaks, Liz and Sianna walked around town and did a bit of shopping. Now it's time to pack up and get ready for the long drive home. Tomorrow we leave Lunenburg early, and will spend the night in Drummondville, Quebec. Pray for our safety on the roads, there have been a couple car-moose accidents recently along the stretch of highway that we will use in New Brunswick.
Here's a few pics from bowling and kayaking...
