3 Days, 1 Post

So, we have been both busy and lazy the last few days. Hence, the 1 post for 3 days.

Sunday morning we we to the worship service at Faith Baptist Chapel, Liz's former church that she attended when she lived here.Of course, that led to many conversations and hugs with old friends. After the service, we headed to "the valley" to see family. First we drove to see Liz's Aunt Anne. Anne is one of Liz's mom's sisters. Anne has always had a special place in Liz's heart, and still remains very special to us. Anne is living with 2 cousins on the ridge of a mountain, with a great view (so we've heard). Unfortunately, we missed the view due to fog. After we said goodbye to Anne and her cousins, we traveled to Kingston to visit with Karl & Muriel, another Aunt and Uncle of Liz's. Muriel is another of Liz's mom's sisters. Karl & Muriel are also very special to us, and we enjoyed our visit with them. Muriel even made a "Birthday Pie" for Liz and we sang to her. Yummy! The girls especially enjoyed this visit since they have a pool.

Monday, we did some shopping around town in the morning. In the afternoon, we drove around the area a bit, and over to Mahone Bay. After touring around a bit, we went to the Hicks' house. Mrs. Hicks has an extremely special place in Liz's heart. She and Liz spent a lot of time together when Liz was young, and Mrs. Hicks was one who taught Liz a great deal about the Bible during her teen years. It was a very good time of visiting.

Today is Liz's 40th birthday! In the morning, Carl and I went kayaking from the back harbor (about 15 miles). It was a good time, with some awesome scenery that I would have never seen otherwise. I don't have any pics, though - didn't want to rick dumping the camera in the salt water. :) In the afternoon, we met Liz's brother, Billy, and his girlfriend Joy Beth at the Ovens Natural Park. See some of the pics... Then, we headed over to Hirtle's beach for the girls to swim. The water was very COLD and lots of HUGE waves. The beach is right on the Atlantic, not in a bay or harbor. After swimming, we headed back to Lunenburg for pizza and cake and gifts. Now it is time to wind down for the evening - Carl and I may go out kayaking again tomorrow...
